Our history

Red Tobacco Farm has a long history in England, with roots dating back to the 19th century, when it was known for producing high-quality red Virginia tobacco. The farm is located on the Fylde Plain. The plain is known for its excellent soil, favourable for growing tobacco.
However, in the early 80's the owner Adam Swaly decided to sell his tobacco business, including all the equipment and his wealth of experience, to the Russian Tobacco Factory (RTF tobacco.im). This allowed him to concentrate his efforts on another, more lucrative endeavour for him, namely dairy farming. Despite these changes, the farm has retained its original name. As a tribute to its history and past successes in the tobacco business.
Despite the sale of the tobacco business, Adam was able to maintain good relations with his friends in Russia, partly due to his continuing links with the tobacco industry through his involvement with RTF. It is likely that this relationship played a part in the success of the dairy business, which Adam subsequently took up.
Today, Red Tobacco Farm is home to a fourth-generation family of dairy farmers. Adam Swaly, the founder of the farm, retired from the business in 1982 and handed over the day-to-day operations to his sons, John, David and Matthew.
As a family business, Red Tobacco Farm looks after the welfare of its cows and maintains the highest standards of quality in milk production. John, David and Matthew are proud of their history and strive to preserve the legacy of their farm for generations to come.
